Our Chapter

 

On January 13, 1979, the “Beautiful” Beta Iota Chapter was chartered at Spelman College. There was a line every year until the hiatus of 1984. In 1993, the chapter was triumphantly revived by Soror Teki Hunt, who was initiated through the Beta Beta Chapter at the University of Arkansas, Pine Bluff. The chapter has been up and running ever since.

 

Soror Taj Raven  - Spring 2022

President

Ryiona “Taj” Raven is a graduating senior Biology Major from Gainesville, GA and currently serves as the President for the 2023-2024 school year. Taj’s favorite principle is finer womanhood, because it reminds her everyday to strive to be the best version of herself. Taj is currently a Pharmacy Technician with plans on attending Pharmacy school after graduation. As President, Taj strives to leave a positive and everlasting impact on the chapter.

Soror Aniyah Marie Daley - Spring 2022

First Vice President/Co Social Media Chair

Aniyah Marie Daley is a graduating senior philosophy major, writing minor from New Rochelle, New York and currently serves as the 1st Vice President for the 2023-2024 school year. Aniyah’s favorite principle is scholarship as she believes in the importance of quality and equal opportunity education for all people. After graduation Aniyah plans on attending graduate school to pursue her PhD in Philosophy in hopes of becoming a college professor. As Vice President, Aniyah’s hope is that the chapter continues to grow and prosper in a positive direction.

Soror Dashna Cadet - Spring 2022 Secretary

Dashna Cadet is a graduating senior psychology major from Long Island, New York and she currently serves as the Secretary for the 2023-2024 school year. Dash’s favorite principle is scholarship because it was imbedded in her that education is the key to setting Black women a part in a world that often aims to put them down. After graduation Dash plans on attending graduate school in pursuit of her PsyD in Clinical Psychology. As secretary, Dash’s hope is that the chapter continues to be an example of Finer womanhood on campus.

Soror Christin Willie - Spring 2022 Parliamentarian/ Z-Hope Coordinator

Christin Willie is a graduating senior, Health Science Major from Charlotte, NC and is currently serving as the Parliamentarian and Chaplin for the 2023-2024 school year. Sisterhood is this Soror’s favorite principle because having a reliable support system is crucial while navigating life's ups and downs. After graduation, Christin plans on attending dental school in pursuit of a doctor of dental surgery to promote oral health in underserved populations. As Parliamentarian and Chaplin, Christin strives to instill a space of mutual respect for members to voice their ideas and opinions.

Soror Rebekah Dillard - Spring 2022 Treasurer/Co Social Media Chair

Rebekah Dillard is a graduating senior Educational Studies Major from Houston, Texas and currently serves as the Treasurer for the 2023-2024 school year. Rebekah’s favorite principle is scholarship, because Rebekah believes that everyone should be afforded the same quality educational opportunities. Rebekah is currently a child care provider with plans of becoming a Speech Pathologist. As Treasurer, Rebekah strives to leave the chapter in financial good standing.
